Traditional Grief Peer Support Groups: Mending Lives is a comprehensive grief peer support program for children and their families. Groups meet one evening per week for nine consecutive weeks from 6:15-7:45 p.m.
Tinsel & Tears: Tinsel & Tears is our annual holiday event that seeks to help families cope with the loss of a loved one and commemorate them during the holidays.
Practicum Placement Program: Through partnerships with area colleges, Kidzcope serves as a student practicum site for many disciplines including social work, clinical and community psychology, counseling and nursing.
Community Outreach: Provide training for schools and organizations to assist children experiencing grief and loss, as well as aid in understanding bereavement. Presentations about the Kidzcope model and our agency are also available.
Volunteer Opportunities: Volunteers are the backbone of Kidzcope. Opportunities include one-time projects, on-going positions, group projects and committee work. Volunteers can choose to work directly with children and their families as a group facilitator. Many of our facilitators come from professional disciplines; however, all must complete our training program regardless of background or experience.
Support Group Enrollment: There is no charge to participate in support groups at Kidzcope. A brief phone interview and orientation appointment is required.
